Cody Tweeten receives certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist

GILLETTE, WY – Cody Tweeten, BS, ACSM EP-C, Exercise Physiologist and Trainer in Rehabilitation Services at Campbell County Health (CCH), recently achieved certification as a Strength and Conditional Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Cody has been employed by CCH since May, 2014. He designs and administers exercise protocols for the ICAN Excel and Excel programs, and develops protocols and client / patient exercise programs for individual and group participants .The Excel program helps athletes achieve their goals of improving strength, speed and agility, with a new session beginning in January. The ICAN Excel program teaches children age 7-10 healthy habits of nutrition and activity, with a new session beginning in January. Call 688-8000 for more information.

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCSs) are professionals who apply scientific knowledge to train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. Recognizing that their area of expertise is separate and distinct, CSCSs consult with and refer athletes to other professionals when appropriate.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is the world leading membership organization for thousands of elite strength coaches, personal trainers and dedicated researchers and educators. Founded in 1978, the NSCA has been serving its members by bridging the gap between science and application. The NSCA is a nonprofit international education association with an active voice in the news for advancements in the field of strength and conditioning.
