The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center Attains Four-Star Rating from CMS

GILLETTE, Wyo. - September 20, 2023 -  The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center is thrilled to announce its recent achievement of a coveted four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Part of Campbell County Health, The Legacy stands as a shining example of commitment to delivering excellence in care and service to the residents of Northeast Wyoming.

The CMS four-star rating is an important accolade within the long-term care industry, signifying a level of quality and dedication that directly benefits residents and their loved ones. This recognition underscores The Legacy's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and overall well-being for all residents.

CMS's Five-Star Quality Rating System enables consumers, families, and caregivers to make informed choices regarding the quality of nursing home facilities. Overall ratings are based on 1) Health Inspection Rating, 2) Staffing Rating, and 3) Quality Measures Rating. The core of the overall rating is based on the Health Inspection Rating, which involves an annual unannounced comprehensive onsite inspection. Roughly, only the top 33% of nursing homes receive a 4- or 5-star Health Inspection Rating, according to CMS.

Kate Craig, MSN, RN, Administrator of The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center, shared her thoughts on this accomplishment, saying, "We are immensely proud of this four-star rating from CMS, as it reflects our continuing dedication to the well-being of our residents and their families. A four-star rating not only reflects our achievements in the past year but reflects our performance and dedication over the past few years. Our amazing staff and their passion for our residents is why we can proudly say we are a four-star facility."

Jerry Klein, Chief Operating Officer of Campbell County Health, shared his enthusiasm for the recognition: "The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center has consistently gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care and support to their residents. Kate has done an amazing job leading the facility, and we are incredibly proud of this recognition. Excellence Every Day is more than just a slogan; it is who we are."

The Legacy's four-star rating by CMS is a symbol of trust for the community. Families can be confident that their loved ones are in the care of a facility that consistently goes the extra mile to provide the best possible care. The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center celebrates this achievement with gratitude and renewed determination to maintain the highest standards of care and support for its cherished residents.
