Journey Program

The Journey Program is a professional development program for high school students graduating in Spring of 2025 who are interested in a career in healthcare.

How It Works

The Journey Program is a multi-year program that pairs education and job training. It begins with an application to the program, CCH department manager reviews applications and conducts interviews with candidates. Students selected will be enrolled in professional development programs at CCH, and their college classes and materials will be paid for by CCH.

If you’ve always been interested in healthcare, read more about the Journey Program tracks, and start your journey today!

The RN Track

The “RN Track” is for those interested in becoming a Registered Nurse. Admitted students will receive one-on-one mentorship provided by a Professional Development RN and a career development plan, all while gaining tangible experience as a CCH employee along the way! During the program, you will be guided on the journey from Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and ultimately to Registered Nurse (RN). By the end of the program, you will be admitted into the CCH RN Residency Program!

What does an RN do?

RNs assess and identify patients' needs, then implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. They can work in any specialty and in various healthcare settings, including home healthcare. They provide patient care, and education, and assist other healthcare professionals. Registered Nurses are graduates from a college nursing program or from a school of nursing and have passed a national licensing exam.

The IT Help Desk Technician Track

What does an IT Help Desk Technician do?

An IT Help Desk Technician is a professional who provides technical support and assistance to end-users, whether on the phone or in person so good communication and active listening skills are a must. The IT Help Desk Technician primary role is to ensure an end-user’s satisfaction and ability to properly operate technology or equipment they may be having trouble with. They serve as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance over the phone or email, perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions, and determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by end-user.

The Radiological Technologist Track

What does a Radiological Technologist do?

Radiologic technologists (X-Ray techs) are medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations, which are ordered by physicians and/or mid-level providers. X-Ray techs work in hospitals, clinics, physician’s offices, and other medical settings. Their education starts with general college courses; after which, they will apply to a two-year radiologic technology program. The courses/classes cover anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety and patient care. General radiography is where X-Ray techs generally start out but there are different imaging modalities under the umbrella of radiology; including: bone densitometry, cardiac or vascular interventional radiography, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, or sonography. Radiologic Technologists have often been referred as “the eyes of medicine”.

The Medical Laboratory Technician Track

What does a Medical Laboratory Technician do?

Campbell County Health has an amazing laboratory. We partner with the Casper College to train Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) in a two-year degree program. They play a vital role in healthcare by conducting laboratory tests that help in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They handle such tasks such as collecting, and analyzing body fluids, tissues, and cells. MLTs are skilled in operating complex laboratory equipment, preparing specimens, and conducting tests ranging from blood counts to identifying pathogens. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial, as their work directly influences patient care decisions. There is an ongoing demand for this vital role.
