About Jacob

Originally from Utah, Dr. Parmley completed his medical education at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and successfully completed his Family Medicine residency with the University of Wyoming in Casper. With a passion for rural healthcare, he is now excited to make Gillette his home.

“Gillette stood out to us because of its amenities while still being a tight-knit rural community,” Dr. Parmley shared. “We really liked the schools in Gillette and all the opportunities and activities for children.”

Dr. Parmley’s journey into medicine was deeply influenced by his upbringing. Growing up around the medical field, he witnessed both the giving and receiving ends of healthcare, which sparked his interest in pursuing a career as a physician. He often shadowed physicians at the hospital where his mother worked as a nurse, gaining valuable insights into the medical profession. Family medicine appealed to him because it allows him to build long-term relationships with patients and care for them through all stages of life.

“I really liked the idea of continuity and being able to follow patients' journeys to make sure they are healthy through all stages of life,” Dr. Parmley explained.

His residency experience during the COVID-19 pandemic provided him with a unique perspective on healthcare, shaping his approach to patient care. One of his most memorable experiences during this time involved helping a patient suffering from mental health issues find the correct medication, which had an instant and profound impact on their life.

When not at work, Dr. Parmley enjoys spending time with his family, including his children, dogs, and bunnies. He also has a passion for running, listening to audiobooks, and playing board and card games.

CCMG Family Medicine is thrilled to have Dr. Parmley join our team and looks forward to the impact he will have on the Northeast Wyoming region.
