About Lauren
One of four occupational therapists at CCH's Rehabilitation Services wanted to become an occupational therapist in order to help people. “I was always very interested in pursuing a career in the medical/health field and when I found occupational therapy, I knew I could make a difference in people’s lives,” says Lauren Mullaney.
For those who don't know, occupational therapy promotes independence and living a meaningful life whether it be through physical rehab, creating adaptations to make functional activities easier, or teaching new strategies to function to the best of a person’s ability.
Lauren sees occupation therapy as helping people live life to its fullest by helping them engage in all areas of their life no matter what their limitations may be. Anything is possible and why Lauren likes her profession so much. “Being able to think outside the box and come up with new and creative ideas in order to help individuals be successful in their everyday lives is so rewarding. Occupational therapy can adapt to anything,” she says.
Working at Rehabiliation Services as an occupational therapist is so rewarding for Lauren because CCH offers the most comprehensive therapy services in Gillette, Wyoming. Occupational therapists often refer patients to other services such as speech therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, and even wound care, which are all available at Rehabilitation Services. The ability to provide continuity of care from therapy during a hospital stay to therapy in your home through Home Health, and even receiving daily or weekly therapy in our clinic is an impressive scope of care patients can receive with one provider and why Lauren loves going to work everyday.
Thank you, Lauren, for being a part of the team at Occupational Therapy at CCH Rehabilitation Services.
Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Unlike other professions, occupational therapy helps people function in all of their environments—for example, at home, work, school and in the community—as well as addresses the physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of their well-being through activities. Occupational therapy services are available to patients at the Stocktrail Building, or in the comfort of their own home.
