about your health. Staff at CCH Radiology are certified in their respective
specialties, and most have multiple certifications for different specialties.

Radiology Services include:
CT Scan: A CT or CAT scan, also known as a computed tomography scan, is a medical
imaging method that uses special X-ray equipment to obtain cross-sectional
pictures of the body.
Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA): commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis and to assess an individual’s
risk for developing fractures

Digital Mammography:
Digital Mammography is provided in Radiology's women's services area in
Campbell County Memorial Hospital. Amenities include a private waiting
area, relaxing decor, mood lighting, gentle background music, heated spa
robes and complimentary bottled water.

Lung Cancer Screening: Are you at risk for lung cancer? Campbell County Health Radiology offers
lung cancer screenings.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging): A way to image the inside of the body without the use of x-rays. The exam
utilizes radiowaves along with a strong magnetic field (instead of radiation)
to create images of the soft tissues in the body like tendons, muscles,
and ligaments.
Nuclear Medicine: Nuclear medicine involves the use of radioactive materials, or isotopes,
to obtain specific diagnostic information. These isotopes transmit a pattern
of rays representing the organ size, shape and function. The rays are
detected by a special camera which, when coupled with a computer, produces
a characteristic image on a screen. Nuclear medicine tests differ from
most other imaging modalities in that diagnostic tests primarily show
the physiological function of the system being investigated as opposed
to traditional anatomical imaging such as CT or MRI. Nuclear medicine
imaging studies are generally more organ or tissue-specific (e.g.: lungs
scan, heart scan, bone scan, brain scan, etc.) than those in conventional
radiology imaging, which focus on a particular section of the body (e.g.:
chest X-ray, abdomen/pelvis CT scan, head CT scan, etc.).
Ultrasound: Ultrasound (also called sonography) is a diagnostic medical procedure that
uses high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs,
tissues or blood flow inside the body. The high-frequency sound waves
are transmitted to the area of interest and the returning echoes are recorded.
This type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram or ultrasound
scan. Selected images are used by an interpreting physician to make a
final diagnosis.
3D Mammography available in Gillette
Bea Pfenning has been an advocate for breast cancer screening even before
her first mammogram at age 35. She has a family history of breast cancer-her
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were all diagnosed, causing
her to be cautious.
“It’s really scary when you find a breast lump when you’re
35, and you have a set of twins that are only one,” remembers Bea.
After talking with her doctor, Bea decided to have a three-dimensional,
or 3D mammogram instead. Also referred to as Tomosynthesis, 3D mammography
lets radiologists examine the tissue - one thin layer at a time. “It
is a technology that is saving lives,” says Bea.
Bea used to travel out of town to have this higher level of screening,
but starting in July CCH patients will have the option to get a 3D mammogram
at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Radiology department. Read more

Choosing an Imaging Center for your Radiology Exam
Not all imaging centers or radiology departments are alike.
ACCREDITATION. Approval by the American College of Radiology indicates that stringent
standards are maintained to monitor and control the radiation dose you
receive during an imaging test.
BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIANS. Board certified and board eligible radiologists with deep roots in the
community interpret your exams.
EXPERIENCE. The CCH radiology staff has more than 300 years of combined experience,
ensuring a safe, effective imaging study.
IMAGING STUDIES. In addition to
digital mammography, CCH provides other studies your doctor needs to diagnose and treat disease,
including digital x-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, DEXA scan
and PET CT.
CONVENIENCE. Patients can have their x-ray or MRI at our
Outpatient Imaging Center, located at 508 Stocktrail Avenue, with convenient parking and easy access.

The Campbell County Health Outpatient Imaging Center offers general X-ray
and MRI services for all patients with a physician referral.

Records and Payment Information
Radiology Records Requests: Imaging studies performed by Campbell County Health, including services
provided at Outpatient Imaging located in the Stocktrail Building are
available from the Medical Records department. Images and reports can
take up to 48 hours to process - call
307-688-1300 to request them.
Copayment Collections: CCH collects co-payments at the time of registration for MRI and CT scans.
The amount requested is based upon the charge for the procedure, but will
usually average between $175-$200.
Patients who are unable to pay their copay/deductible at the time of registration
will continue to receive their services prescribed by their healthcare provider.
