HealthCheck blood draws at Recluse, Little Powder
- Posted On:
HealthCheck blood draws will be held on February 25 at Recluse School from 6:30-8:30 am and March 9 at Little Powder School from 6:30-8:30 am.
Wellness Profile (Chem Panel) $25
A 32-item screening test that includes cholesterol, glucose and thyroid levels.
CBC (Complete Blood Count) $10
Different types of blood cells are counted and examined to present a general picture of overall health and the person’s ability to fight infection and disease.
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) $25
This test measures a protein produced by the male prostate gland and is recommended by the American Cancer Society for men over age 50, or those with a family history of prostate cancer. High levels are associated with an increased likelihood of cancer or non-cancerous prostatic disease. A significant rise in PSA levels indicates the need for further testing by your physician.
hsCRP (Highly Sensitive C-Reactive Protein) $40
This test, in conjunction with cholesterol levels, is a strong predictor of peripheral artery disease. Cardio CRP may also help identify patients at risk of a first heart attack even with low to moderate lipid levels.
Glycohemoglobin $40
Measures blood glucose over a 3-month period for monitoring blood sugar over time.
Please fast for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. Take any prescribed medications as ususal. Drink plenty of water and you may brush your teeth. Results are mailed to your home within three business days.
