CCMH Employee Recertified in Oncology Nursing
- Posted On:
Debbie Riis, registered nurse in Campbell County Health's Cancer Care Center, has successfully renewed her Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential.
Initial OCN certification is obtained by successfully passing the OCN examination, which tests the knowledge necessary for the nurse to practice competently at the basic level within the specialty of adult oncology nursing. The Oncology Nursing Certification Points Renewal Option allows nurses to accumulate points toward recertification by completing professional development activities such as nursing education, continuing medical education, academic education, presentations, publications, precepting of students or volunteer leadership service.
Ms. Riis has been certified since 1999 and has been employed at CCMH for twenty-two years. She has worked as an oncology nurse for twelve years.
