GILLETTE, WY – Campbell County Health (CCMH), along with the City of Gillette and Campbell County Government, will participate in an emergency preparedness exercise at the hospital on Thursday, June 6, 2013. There will be a large police and Campbell County Sheriff Department presence at the hospital from approximately 2-5 pm that day.
Signage will be placed warning pedestrians and oncoming traffic of the exercise at all vehicle entrances to the hospital campus. Some access points to the hospital may be closed temporarily. Signs will also be posted in respective areas of the Hospital. It is possible that a section of the main stairwell and upper dining room will be blocked to keep normal traffic out of that space between 2-4 pm. CCMH employees will be advising customers about the exercise and to not be alarmed.
Exercises such as this provide first responders, emergency management officials, private and non-governmental partners, and other personnel the opportunity to perform tasks they may be required to carry out during an emergency. The goal is to provide the participants a higher level of preparedness, a more effective response and a better chance of saving lives in an actual incident.
