Welcome Dr. Ryan Noonan

Patients in the Walk-in Clinic are seeing a new face these days. Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Ryan Noonan is waiting for his new home to be completed in the new Campbell County Medical Group clinic.

Dr. Noonan attended medical school at the Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles, a part of the country of the Netherlands located east of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He completed his residency at the University of Florida Community Health and Family Medicine program in Gainesville, Fla. During his residency he saw patients of all ages and backgrounds in both clinic and inpatient settings.

When asked why he was drawn to medicine, Dr. Noonan related a story of being accidently being hit in the head with a golf club by his brother at the age of eight.

“I had aphasia and couldn’t speak," said Dr. Noonan. “I had to re-learn how to speak and also had to have some skull reconstruction. This experience led to an interest in the fields of neurology and medicine in general.”

Dr. Noonan’s undergraduate degree was in Neuroscience, and he went on to study medicine to become the first healthcare provider in his family.

He was looking to settle in the West with his wife Amanda and their three girls, ages eight, three and five months.

“I have brothers and sisters in Utah and Montana, and my wife has family in Utah. We were impressed with the school system and the resources for kids. Everyone has been very friendly.”

That’s quite a compliment for Gillette, since Dr. Noonan and his wife came from military families and have lived all over the world.

Dr. Noonan is looking forward to establishing a Family Practice clinic in a few months, but is happy seeing patients in the Walk-in Clinic and working with the other providers and staff.

“The pace doesn’t bother me,” said Dr. Noonan. “It keeps things interesting.”
