Dick Smith has come to Campbell County Health (CCMH) for a three-month assignment from Medman, Inc. to assist Interim Clinic Director Adrian Roberg with administration and management of the Campbell County Clinics. He has assumed management of the third floor clinics with a goal of improving both the patient and employee experience.
Dick’s career in clinic administration began in 1981, and he came out of retirement for this assignment. His position before retirement was as Clinic Administrator for Kittitas Valley Healthcare in Ellensburg, Wash.
He stressed that the Campbell County Clinics’ employees themselves identified the top two opportunities for improvement: improving the patient experience and improving employee retention. Improving the patient experience includes things like coordinating the new patient registration process to improve information gathering and shorten wait times.
“It was very telling that the employees put the improvement of the patient experience ahead of their own,” said Dick. “I was impressed.”
