Thanks for working here Thursday: Angie, CCMH Pharmacy

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Angie, a Certified Pharmacy Technician who works in the Campbell County Health Pharmacy. She's been with CCH for around 13 years – she briefly moved to Texas and then came back to work with the organization again. Angie is one of two technicians who mix chemotherapy drugs in the Pharmacy, and she takes great pride in this. Preparing chemotherapy is a process where accuracy is imperative to patient safety and treatment outcomes. Angie is one of several quality checks in this process to ensure patients receive the right chemotherapy. Her colleagues would tell you that she's a team player and that they can rely on her to go the extra mile under any circumstance. Her positivity is absolutely contagious, and her team can always go to her when they need to smile.

We asked Angie what inspired her to work in healthcare and what she likes most about working at CCH. Her response:

"After graduating from high school, I worked in a retail pharmacy, with an amazing pharmacist—who was a mentor to me and encouraged me to learn more about diseases and medicine. I really enjoyed working with him, and helping to take care of the people who came in to the store.

I've worked in many pharmacies – from retail, mail order, Cancer center, to different hospitals – and I must say that Campbell County Health is a great organization with amazing people. We are so very fortunate to have cutting-edge technology at the hospital pharmacy, especially since we live in a rural setting – there are many places that do not have this. Plus, I work with a wonderful team of people. We have a true camaraderie and can laugh together and still be serious when we need to be. I like being part of a whole."

Angie, thank you for your positive attitude and for your empathy toward the people you help. It's people like you who do make this organization whole.
