Volunteers are an important part of the CCH family

Today, CCH recognized nearly 220 volunteers who gave more than 12,300 hours in 2014 at a luncheon. Special thanks to the Gillette College Energy City Voices for their toe-tapping entertainment (video from the event was posted on CCH's Facebook page).

(And, if you want to see more of them, check them out at An Evening with the Voices tomorrow April 16 at 6:30 pm at Brothers Coffee in downtown Gillette for FREE. Or, reserve a seat at Sonnets & Chocolates on May 2 at 7:30 pm to help them raise funds. Details on their Facebook page.)

CCH Board of Trustees Chair Randy Hite thanked the volunteers for the generous hours that they gave the organization and for the impact that they have on our patients. "Whatever the reason for faithfully showing up each and every day, our volunteers bring a wealth of support, wisdom, humor and cheer, which can never be repaid," said Randy. "You are part of our journey toward Excellence Every Day. All of us on the board, thank you for your gift to the patients, visitors and employees of Campbell County Health. Thank you for everything that you do."

Devon Boen, CCH Volunteer Services Coordinator, talked about the effect the volunteer program has had on her over the past year. "What I’ve witnessed in all our CCH volunteers across the board is that, to them, volunteering isn’t just a job or an hour they write on a piece of paper – it is an expression of how much they care for and respect for the patients, residents, and visitors of CCH," she said. "And those are the types of people any volunteer program should strive to have and would be lucky to have – because the second it becomes just a job or just an hour – is the second the magic of volunteerism is gone."

Thank you volunteers, for all that you do for CCH and this community.

Photos from today's event can be seen on our Facebook page.
