Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Allow me to introduce Christy Mayard, a Lab Assistant and Certified Phlebotomist in the CCH Laboratory. For those who don't know, a phlebotomist draws blood for analysis in a laboratory. At CCH, the Lab collects samples for approximately 1,000 different tests. Christy, who's been with CCH for five years, was meant for healthcare from a young age—she said that she's always wanted to help people, even going as far to stop and help at accidents if she came upon them. According to her colleagues, Christy frequently goes above and beyond for all her patients, and they love her. The next time you're in the Lab, be sure to look for the flags that are hanging on the walls. Christy put these up and invites veterans to sign the flag as a way to recognize their service to our country. We asked Christy what she likes most about working at CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
"At CCH, I'm accepted as a member of the team in every department and I'm learning every day—learning from the doctors and nurses, Radiology Technicians, and the staff in Environmental Services; I learn something daily. Interacting with the patients and their families and being allowed to help with their care is also a perk for me.
I believe that excellence every day is doing the best I can to show and treat my coworkers and patients with utmost respect, as well as earning their respect."
Christy, thank you for going the extra mile for the patients, and veterans, in the Lab. We appreciate you.
