Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Say hello to Devon, CCH’s Volunteer Services Coordinator in the Community Relations Department. Devon started her career in healthcare just a year ago in the CCMG Walk-In Clinic as a registration specialist, and now she manages more than 180 volunteers who give thousands of hours of their time to the organization. Volunteers at CCH work in a variety of departments such as Hospice and Education as well staff the Information Desk, Gift Shoppe, and the Cancer Resource Center, where Devon says she could use a few more volunteers to help (learn more at www.ccmh.net/volunteer).
We asked Devon what she likes most about working at CCH and why she was inspired to work in healthcare. Her response:
“Each day, I get to work with people who donate their time for nothing in return. Working around such generosity tends to make you more generous and understanding yourself. … I wanted a career that focused on positively influencing people. I think having a job that focuses on helping people and improving the community leads to a better quality of life, overall.”
We agree, Devon. We are grateful for the support that you give fellow employees and the patients who are here, and appreciate that you give 100 percent when you’re at work.
