Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Meet Sondra, CNA, the Activities Aide for the Pioneer Manor Activities Department. Sondra has given 24 years of her life to the residents at our long term care facility, and she says she has loved every minute of it. In the activities department, Sondra is part of a team who bring residents a better quality of life during their stay in the facility. Activities they do with residents include fishing at Dalbey Memorial Park, attending community events, playing bingo, planting gardens, making bird houses or glass art, and much, much more. We asked Sondra what inspired her to work in healthcare and what she likes most about working at Pioneer Manor. Check out her response:
"When I was a Brownie in the Girl Scouts, I remember singing at the long term care facility in Gillette, and my mother always brought me into nursing homes throughout my youth. I remember that the residents had the best stories, and I wanted to work with them. I've always liked being around and working with people—especially helping them.
Being with the residents, hands down, is the best part of my job. I love to make them smile and hear their amazing stories and the history of our community, or where ever they are from. And the activities department is a fun department – we get to encourage the residents to kick their heels up and have fun with us. What's not to love about that?"
Indeed. Sondra, we appreciate that you, and your team of activities aides, do your best for our residents every day. We appreciate you!
