Thanks for working here Thursday: Misty, Laboratory

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Misty, a Certified Phlebotomist and Secretary at the CCMH Laboratory. For those who don't know, a phlebotomist draws blood for analysis in a laboratory. Misty worked in accounting and business finance for 10 years; however, she decided she didn't like crunching numbers as much as she enjoyed helping people—much to the benefit of CCH! She moved to Gillette from Phoenix with her husband and two girls in search of better schools for them, and initially took a job with Dr. Ammari when she first arrived. Dr. Ammari requested that Misty take the phlebotomy course offered by CCMH, and afterward she decided that she wanted to work in the Lab. That was eight years ago. Time flies when you're having fun!

We asked Misty what she likes most about working at CCH and what Excellence Every Day means to her. Her response:

"Campbell County Health has a lot to offer its employees—great benefits, opportunity to further grow in your field of choice, and very supportive staff and directors. Coming to work every day in the Lab is a great experience—we treat each other like family here.

To me, the Lab has a great example of excellence ever day: the 'glow-in-the-dark-room' where we bring children who don't like needles or are scared of getting their blood drawn. It's the best thing to watch their attitude change from fear to awe at the flick of a light. Basically, what excellence every day means to me is that I am doing my absolute best every day to make people feel comfortable while they are in the Lab; and this room helps us do that."

Misty is right. That glow-room sure is a fun, and excellent way to help patients relax. Thank you Misty for always providing excellent service to our patients. We are grateful that you joined our team.
