Hollie Kreul, RN, Receives Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing

GILLETTE, WY – Hollie Kreul, RN, registered nurse at Campbell County Health Behavioral Health Services (CCH), recently received certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing board certification examination is a competency based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the psychiatric-mental health specialty after initial RN licensure.

Nurses who meet the requirements are awarded the credential Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC). In order to take the certification exam the applicant must:

  • have practiced the equivalent of two years full-time as a registered nurse
  • have a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in the specialty area of psychiatric-mental health nursing within the last three years
  • and have completed 30 hours of continuing education in psychiatric-mental health nursing within the last three years

The certification is valid for five years. Hollie has been employed by CCH since October 2003. Other BHS staff certified in psychiatric-mental health nursing include Hilary Gills, RN.
