Patients receive Valentine's from Lakeview students

Some third-grade students at Campbell County School District's Lakeview Elementary wanted to do something nice for people who had to be in the hospital. So they colored, designed and decorated 280 Valentine's to be distributed to patients.

When the students were asked why they wanted to make valentine's messages for hospitalized patients they eagerly but patiently replied, "because it isn't fun being in the hospital," "a nice note always helps you feel better," "it helps to fill the sick person's bucket" and the well-spoken responses continued for several minutes.

Delivering valentine's to patients was an idea that was sparked through their Kindness Club studies and were given to patients in Dialysis, Heptner Cancer Center, and Hospice/Home Health on Friday, February 12. Pioneer Manor residents along with ICU, Med/Surg, and Maternal Child patients received their cards on Sunday, February 14.
