GILLETTE, WY – Dr. Nicholas J. Stamato, Campbell County Medical Group (CCMG), has received recertification in Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), valid through December 31, 2026. Recertification is also called Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
Dr. Stamato sees patients at CCMG Cardiology, located on the third floor of Campbell County Health. In addition to Certification by the ABIM in Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Stamato is certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Participation in MOC means that a physician is demonstrating that he participates in certain continuous learning and education activities and must pass a secure exam. Participating ABIM Board Certified physicians regularly (at least every two years) complete approved MOC activities using a structured framework created by their peers for keeping up with and assessing knowledge of the latest scientific developments and changes in practice and in specialty areas.
ABIM is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Through ABMS, the boards work together to establish common standards for physicians to achieve and maintain board certification. ABIM is an independent, non-profit organization.
ABIM certifies one out of every four practicing physicians in the United States, and there are more than 200,000 ABIM Board Certified physicians. Certification stands for the highest standard in internal medicine and its 19 subspecialties and means that internists have demonstrated – to their peers and to the public – that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care.
