GILLETTE, WY – Dr. Tom Davis, Davis ENT, has received recertification in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Sleep Medicine from the American Board of Otolaryngology, (ABO), valid through January 31, 2027. Recertification is also called Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
Participation in MOC means that a physician is demonstrating that he participates in certain continuous learning and education activities and must pass a secure exam. Participating Board Certified physicians regularly (at least every year) complete approved MOC activities using a structured framework created by their peers for keeping up with and assessing knowledge of the latest scientific developments and changes in practice and in specialty areas.
Each participant must obtain 25 CME units per year, 60% of which must be in otolaryngology. The participant is required to successfully complete one ABO self-assessment module in a specialty area of his/her choice per year. Through a program of lifelong learning and on-going self-assessment, board certified physicians demonstrate their rigorous commitment to achieving quality clinical outcomes for patients in a responsive, patient-focused setting.
ABO is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Through ABMS, the boards work together to establish common standards for physicians to achieve and maintain board certification.
