Human touch is a vital component of health care, and to demonstrate this Campbell County Health Chaplains host a Blessing of the Hands ceremony every year during National Hospital Week celebrations.
The Blessing of the Hands is a cherished health care tradition practiced around the world. The practice often links the art and science backgrounds of health care to the spiritual aspect of healing. The blessing can be a meaningful experience for physicians, nurses and all CCH staff. The nondenominational ceremony is open to anyone, religious or not, no matter their job description—establishing that every person at CCH is responsible for the healing of our patients.
CCH Chaplain Donny Edwards and Associate Chaplain Gayle Grimsbo performed the ceremony at Hospice and Home Health on May 10, shown here with nurses Kat Tuning (left) and Amanda Walter, (right).
