Thanks for working here Thursday: Monte Haddix, RN, CCMG Family Practice

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Monte Haddix, RN, BSN, CCRN, who works at the Campbell County Medical Group Neurology and Pain Clinic with Dr. Romer Mosquera. The clinic treats patients with disorders of the nervous system and provides treatment toward the management of chronic pain in the Main Clinic. Monte is a veteran and earned his degree at Excelsior College, U.S. Army Nurse Corp. Monte says he went to nursing school as a bridge to going onto physical therapy school but found that being a nurse was a great fit! In fact, he’s been a nurse for more than 23 years.

We asked Monte who is a health care hero was, and he mentioned two. “My first is my wife (Melisa Haddix who works in Home Health and Hospice). We met during trauma and I was amazed at the way she cared for a family who lost a daughter. She still amazes me with the way she cares for her patients,” says Monte. “The second is a group of men and women I served with known as combat medics. For little recognition and less pay, they are willing to lay their lives on the line for someone they may not know but consider their brother!” And for that, we are all eternally grateful.

When Monte isn’t busy being a nurse, you can find him spending quality time with his family (wife, son, and daughter) doing anything outdoors, such as golfing, fishing, hunting, and hiking.

We asked Monte what he likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to him. Check out his response:

“I love the diversity of patients and the staff. Every day I care for someone who makes me realize why I am a nurse, and for that I am proud to have that opportunity to provide and work for CCH.

Excellence every day is looking in the mirror! At CCH excellence every day is going the extra mile to ensure a patient is taken care of.”
