The Campbell County Health Diabetes Education department is hosting two educational sessions for the Choose You and Prevention Type 2 Diabetes program that begins in mid-May. These information sessions take place on Thursday, April 26 or Monday, May 7 from 7-8 pm at the Ground Floor Conference Room at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, 501 S. Burma Avenue, in Gillette, Wyoming. The information sessions are free! Check out more information in this video:
The information sessions will outline the year-long diabetes prevention program that CCH has created to help community members prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes with healthy lifestyle changes. Choose You and Prevention Type 2 Diabetes is a structured program facilitated by Heidi Gillette, RDN, LD, and Melissa Gorsuch, RN; diabetes educators and trained lifestyle coaches with Campbell County Medical Group Diabetes Education. The emphasis of the program is on nutrition, physical activity and behavior change tools and techniques to help prevent diabetes. It uses curriculum developed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The Choose You and Prevention Type 2 Diabetes program takes place from May 15, 2018 through May 14, 2019. This will be a small group to help individuals get the attention they may need. The program meets 16 times during the first six months and monthly during the last six months. If you register for the program, it costs $150.
