New Revenue Cycle Director starts work

New Revenue Cycle Director Yvonne Robinett-Hoiland is currently working out of a borrowed office in the Patient Accounting department. She is excited about the challenges of developing this newly created position at Campbell County Health in Gillette, Wyoming.

Yvonne will oversee all areas of the revenue cycle in both Campbell County Memorial Hospital and Campbell County Medical Group clinics from the time a patient’s bill is coded, billed, collected and posted. Now these operations are performed by several different departments across the organization, in multiple locations and without much coordination.

“The goal in creating this new position is to consolidate and coordinate the functions related to billing across the organization,” said CFO Dalton Huber. “There are many opportunities to make the patients’ experience better, operate more efficiently and ultimately improve our bottom line.”

Yvonne is looking forward to removing some of the fragmentation of the billing process and make employees feel that they’re working together to improve billing. She’s started meeting with the managers in all the billing areas to see how work is currently performed and begin the project planning process.

Yvonne comes to CCH from Syringa Hospital and Clinics in Grangeville, Idaho, where she was the Revenue Cycle Director and Privacy Officer for a critical access hospital and two clinics. She also has extensive consulting experience in coding and billing with Coding Continuum, Inc., in Tucson, AZ.

“It’s a little scary for staff to have a new Director on board, especially when the position is brand new”, said Yvonne. “I’m really focused on making billing more efficient and helping everyone feel more successful”.

Yvonne’s husband Dan and son Ian are still in Idaho and will relocate to Gillette after school is out for the summer. She jokes that it’s actually worked out well because she can really concentrate on getting to know the people and processes here.

When she’s not working, Yvonne and her family enjoy being outside, hiking and riding 4-wheelers. Yvonne likes to cook and is planning an herb garden for the growing season.

The implementation of the Meditech Ambulatory system for the CCMG Clinics beginning in mid 2018 will enable patients to receive one statement for both clinic visits and hospital services. And when remodeling is completed in late spring, most of the Patient Accounting staff will move over to the Pioneer Building (the old Pioneer Manor) and work alongside staff from the Central Billing Office. Patients will be able to go to one place to pay their clinic and hospital bills and get their questions answered. Parking will be closer and more convenient too. Patients will still be able to pay bills at the hospital as they always have.

“Healthcare bills are just one more source of anxiety for patients,” says Yvonne. “Anything we can do to make it better relieves stress for patients.”
