Meet June Land, a valuable volunteer with Campbell County Health in Gillette, Wyoming.
June began volunteering as soon as she retired from teaching second grade for Campbell County School District.
“She has high energy,” comments Chris Buxton, CCH Volunteer Services Coordinator.
June started volunteering with Meals on Wheels in 1998, a program dedicated to delivering meals to seniors with diminished mobility in the community. She would deliver nutritious meals and make safety checks while providing a friendly visit with seniors.
Today, June works as a CCH volunteer. “June has worked in the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Gift Shoppe for many years,” says Chris. “She is a delight to work with.”
June enjoys helping manage merchandise, but even more she loves working with customers. “The best part about working in the Gift Shoppe is the wonderful people,” says June.
Her dedication to customer service does not go unnoticed. “She strives to give the shoppers a pleasurable experience when they stop by to browse,” says Chris.
June also volunteers at her church, New Life Church Gillette. She helps run the New Life KidZone, a “safe and fun environment where kids learn about Jesus and the Bible while having a blast.” June works with children in the program who are in Kindergarten.
Outside of volunteering, June attends a weekly bible study, enjoys riding her bike and regularly attends a swimming aerobics class. She also spends time with her eight grandkids (five of whom live nearby) and her 12 greatgrandkids (nine live locally).
June embodies the spirit of volunteerism—giving her time for the opportunity to help others. Thank you, June, for delighting all customers at CCMH's Gift Shoppe.
