CCH Lifts Visiting Restrictions April 2019
- Posted On:
GILLETTE, WY—Campbell County Health has lifted the visiting restrictions on the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Maternal Child Unit and The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center as of Monday, April 29, 2019. The restrictions were implemented earlier in the year due to cases of the flu (influenza) and RSV in the community.
“When restrictions are implemented we are concerned about both the spread of infection but also worried about how restrictions affect families. We don’t want visitor restrictions, either. It’s hard on everyone,” said Infection Preventionist Nurse Kate Craig. “But when we look at who is most likely to be infected (kids) and who is most vulnerable (the elderly and the hospitalized), we have to be cautious about letting those groups intermingle. Therefore, by restricting visitors we protect the environment, residents and patients who are more vulnerable. They depend on us to protect their space.” Read the blog here >>>
Even though the restrictions have been lifted, people who feel ill should refrain from visiting. All visitors are still encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to visiting any patient or resident. Masks and hand sanitizer stations are located at the main entrance of The Legacy and throughout CCMH in Gillette, Wyoming.
