New CEO Named for Campbell County Health

GILLETTE, WY – Colleen Heeter has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer of Campbell County Health, effective July 1, 2020; the retirement date of current CEO Andy Fitzgerald. Both the CCH Board of Trustees and Ms. Heeter have accepted the terms of the employment agreement, and the contract will be finalized next week.

Several options for filling the CEO position were evaluated by the Board, including hiring an executive search firm, and accepting applications through the Human Resources department. Those options were eliminated as the Board realized the best candidate was already in-house.

“We feel fortunate to have found an excellent candidate like Ms. Heeter, who already understands the organization, appreciates the community, and has proven her effectiveness in a leadership role,” said Board Chair Dr. Ian Swift. “I look forward to her continuing to grow and develop the organization while offering guidance to the excellent team surrounding her.”

Ms. Heeter has been the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CCH since February 2019. She came to Gillette in April 2018 as the interim director of Powder River Surgery Center. Positions prior to coming to Gillette, Wyoming, include Vice President of Operations, Hospital Division for Surgical Care Associates in Deerfield, IL, and Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Prime Healthcare in Kansas City, KS. Ms. Heeter has over 30 years’ experience in healthcare, including a clinical background as a registered nurse, and a master’s degree in Business Administration. She and her husband Joe have two children, Jake and Madeline.
