Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Say hello to Traci Morris, BSN, RN, RAC-CT, the MDS Coordinator for The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming. Minimum data set (MDS) coordinators continuously monitor, evaluate, and manage the care given to residents in long-term care facilities. Traci earned a licensed practical nurse (LPN) degree from Gillette College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming. She’s been in health care for 19 years, and 14 of those years have been with CCH (10 on the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Medical/Surgical Unit, and four at The Legacy).
“I have always wanted to be a nurse,” says Traci. “I still have something from kindergarten that says, ‘When I grow up I want to be a nurse so I can help people.’ The meaning of help has gone far beyond what I could have imagined the day that was written!”
When asked about her health care hero, the answer was simple: Tammy Tow. “I have worked with Tammy in various situations over the years as a nurse. Tammy not only has superb nursing skills, but she kind, compassionate, open minded, and does what is best for the resident, all with high ethical and moral standards,” Traci says.
When she’s not at work, Traci says that she enjoys spending time with family and friends. “Nothing extravagant, simply spending time together is what we enjoy,” she says.
We asked Traci what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“The people I have met and worked with at CCH—I have worked with many compassionate, caring, dedicated, and intelligent people. The things I have learned are invaluable. I started working in MDS a little over a year ago. It is a whole different type of nursing. It has my brain working harder than ever!
The intent of performing and giving the very best of yourself to our resident’s and my co-workers daily to provide the highest level of quality care we are able. This is really important to me as I believe our resident’s and their families need to know they are safe, secure, and know they can enjoy their home.”
Thank you, Traci for taking care of our residents. We are proud to have you on our team.
