Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Allow us to introduce Tisha Foster Carlson, PT, DPT, WCC, who works as a physical therapist at CCH Rehabilitation Services in Gillette, Wyoming. Tisha has been with CCH for 12 years. She earned her bachelor’s in science in exercise and sport science from Colorado State University and her masters and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from Regis University.
Tisha’s love for science initially inspired her to explore health care in college. “I was a medication aide in an assisted living facility for patients with dementia prior to physical therapy school in Denver, Colo. That experience made a great impact on me. I developed a love for working with elderly patients,” she says. “As I learned more about different majors, I found that physical therapy was a perfect fit.”
Tisha calls her health care hero her grandfather, who was, “a gentle, wonderful man. He took amazing care of my grandmother after she suffered a stroke, which left her paralyzed for many years. Looking back, he had a big impact on my expectations of caring for others.”
When Tisha isn’t at work, she loves spending time with her husband and three children camping, skiing and traveling to their sporting events.
We asked Tisha what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“Several years ago I became the full-time physical therapist in outpatient wound care after becoming wound care certified (WCC). I have learned a great deal about healing wounds. I have also developed productive relationships with other providers through wound care. I take great pride in my work and assisting patients with wound healing to improve their quality of life.
To me, excellence every day means that I am obligated to provide excellent care to every patient in every situation. Even when life is hectic or the situation is chaotic, each patient should receive my undivided attention.”
Thank you, Tisha for providing our patients with such wonderful care. We appreciate you.
