Thanks for working here Thursday: Jason Russell, CBET, CCH Biomedical Department

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Jason Russell, a Senior Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) who works in the Biomedical Department for CCH in Gillette, Wyoming. Jason has been with CCH for 12 years, and has worked in health care for 15 years. Jason has earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronic Systems, an AAS in Biomedical Equipment Technology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership. For those who don’t know, Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) are healthcare professionals responsible for servicing, maintaining, and managing healthcare technologies throughout the organization. Skilled technicians help acquire, install, maintain, and train healthcare personnel on cutting-edge medical technology. They also support medical staff in the use of the technology. For CCH, these professionals have a hand in servicing more than 4,000 pieces of equipment used to help our patients!

Jason entered a career in health care because he was always interested in the sciences including biology and anatomy, as well as electronics and other gadgets. “Working in Biomed has allowed me to put those interests to work in a way that combines both,” he says. “I’ve always enjoyed problem solving, and the challenges that go with this line of are always present and keep me learning innovate ways to keep up with changes.”

When Jason’s not working, he enjoys the outdoors with his daughter, Emma. “We play tennis, and go biking, and fishing,” he says.

We asked Jason what he likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to him. Check out his response:

“For me it’s obviously the staff and departments that appreciate our efforts supporting their day to day operations and allow them to perform their duties most efficiently. My coworkers are highly skilled, self-starters with a lot of experience, and combined with the budgetary support to have spare parts on hand in a rural area keeps our department running smoothly.

Excellence every day is performing our duties to the best of our ability while maintaining patient safety and good stewardship of the hospital resources.”

Thank you, Jason, for helping us take such great care of our patients with the best possible equipment. We appreciate you.
