Thanks for working here Thursday: Sarah Moore, CNA, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Sarah Moore, a certified nursing assistant (CNA) who works for The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming. Sarah has been with CCH for the last four years, and also has a Dementia Care Certificate. A typical day as a CNA at the Legacy is a busy one. On any given day, Sarah will assist with dressing residents, as well as helping them with daily tasks such as showering, using the bathroom, doing their hair, brushing their teeth and eating. Sarah will also make beds, tidy rooms, check resident's blood sugar and take vital signs. Another part of her job is helping residents who may need help walking to different locations in the facility, as well as encouraging them to participate in daily activities such as bingo, bowling, or church service. And, she'll do all of this while also helping nurses with other tasks.

Sarah says that being a nurse has always been a goal of hers, which is why she is a CNA at The Legacy. “I have always loved helping people and enjoy working with the elderly,” she says. She calls Sonya Haptonstall, RN, a House Supervisor at The Legacy her health care hero. “She is my hero because she always pushes me to be a better CNA, and was the person who encouraged me to become a CAN,” she says.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband. “I like to camp, fish, do crafts, and paint,” she says.

We asked Sarah what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“The residents are the reason we are here and I love getting to work with them. I really appreciate when the families give us their appreciation and love for taking care of their families.

I really enjoy when we do activities on the units with our dementia residents. They have such a different outlook on the day and we have fun keeping the residents busy.

Excellence Every Day is being here every day for the residents and giving 100% every day,” says Sarah.

Thanks for caring and giving your all to our residents and families, Sarah. We are proud to have you on our team.
