Thanks for working here Thursday: Karla Richards, CCH Patient Financial Services

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow us to introduce Karla Richards, a Business Office Specialist in CCH Patient Financial Services in Gillette, Wyoming. Karla has worked for CCH for the last 10 years. For those who don’t know, Patient Financial Services provides billing, coding, payment posting, denial management, and other services surrounding reimbursement across the health system. Patient Financial Services also helps patients find resources that may be available to them to assist with healthcare expenses. Patients may speak with Patient Financial Counselors within department with any concerns regarding their statements, financial resources, and questions regarding healthcare coverage.

Karla was inspired to work in health care because she wanted to help people. When asked about a health care hero, she said that she didn’t have just one person. “Everyone who I have worked with has given me inspiration and guidance with my work,” she says.

When Karla isn’t at work, she enjoys crafting with flowers and spoiling her five grandkids! “I also enjoy going on motorcycle rides and snowmobiling,” she says.

We asked Karla what she likes most about working at CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I enjoy working with the people that I do and the everyday challenges that come up. And, of course, it’s always nice when someone thanks me for helping them find a solution.

Excellence every day means treating people they way that you would like to be treated: with respect, compassion and understanding. With all the negativity in this world a little kindness goes a long way.”
