Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Allow us to introduce Kelly Tryon, RN-BC, who works at CCH Cardiac Rehabilitation at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. Kelly is a Board Certified Cardiac Vascular Nurse from the American Nurse Credentialing Center and an American College Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist.
Kelly says that she always knew that she was going to be a nurse. “I went straight to Nursing School out of High School, graduating in 1983 from West Nebraska General Hospital School of Nursing in Scottsbluff, Neb. I started as a Medical/Surgical nurse and then traveled for a few years doing Contract and Registry Nursing. Eventually, I was invited to be part of an Adult Critical Care Course in Savannah, Georgia, and was able to train and then travel as an ICU nurse,” she says.
Then, in 1989, Kelly was finally ready to plant some roots in Gillette—she started at CCH in the ICU, and then moved to Cardiac Rehab.
When asked who her health hero is, she names retired colleague Sue Howard, RN, a CCH Legend. “I’ve been privileged to work with many wonderful nurses and have many heroes, but top of the list is Sue—she mentored, encouraged, and supported me, and got me hooked on Cardiac Rehab and Diagnostics,” she says.
When she’s not in the halls at CCMH, Kelly loves to spend time with her family when they come to town, especially her two granddaughters who keep her busy and entertained. “Travelling, camping, cooking, crafting and cards—especially pinochle—are a few of my other favorite things,” she says.
We asked Kelly what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“To help our clients through the healing process, mental, physical and emotional is so rewarding. Getting to utilize my critical thinking and assessment skills keeps me challenged, but I really love the connections I’ve made with my patients and their families over the years.
Excellence every day is always trying to make a difference in someone’s day.”
Thanks, Kelly, for being a part of our team. We appreciate you!

For those who don't know, Cardiac Rehab is part of CCH’s robust Cardiovascular Services program. Cardiac Rehab is a monitored exercise and education program that usually begins in the hospital following a heart attack, heart surgery or other cardiac event, and continues after patients leave the hospital--helping patients recover faster and return to full and productive lives. At their cardiac rehab session, patients learn how to exercise safely to strengthen and maintain a healthy heart. Patients also receive information to help understand their heart condition and learn to adjust to a new lifestyle by changing their behaviors.
