Thanks for working here this week: Amanda Quick, EKG Specialist in Cardiology

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Introducing Amanda Quick, a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and EKG Specialist in the Campbell County Medical Group Cardiology Clinic at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. Amanda has worked in health care for 15 years total, and three of those years has been with CCH.
For those who don’t know, EKG technicians oversee a variety of cardiovascular tests, including the electrocardiogram (EKG), which measures the electrical activity of your heart with small electrodes. This information provides doctors with important data about the health of a patient’s heart, such as reveal evidence of a heart attack or heart disease.
Amanda was inspired to work in health care because she always had a great desire to help others. “I always wanted to make sure I could help people with a positive, dedicated and consistent drive,” she says. “I grew up with many stories that gave me great inspirations to move to the health care field. From a pulmonologist who ‘fixed’ a young girls dad, a chemo nurse who became a friend and support during one of the hardest times, to an optometrist who showed there are so many ways to be great for your patients and to go for your dreams.”
Amanda says that her goal every day is to be one person’s ‘sunshine’, and to make their day better.
One of her health care heroes was one of the first doctors she was an assistant to: Dr. Obssuth. “He was my mentor and someone I trusted beyond anything. He had a way with his patients that was straightforward, but had compassion and put his patients at ease all while making sure they understood everything they needed,” she says. “He is also the man who convinced me to go for my dreams. Although, I have not achieved them yet, I still use his words of wisdom to continue my drive to be better every day!”
Outside of work, Amanda says that her life revolves around her beautiful and energetic kids, and her loving family. “They are what keep me going,” she says. “Being outside, going exploring and just overall being in the moment with them is better than anything I could imagine.”
We asked Amanda what she likes most about working for CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I love working at CCH because of the people I work with all across the hospital. I love how people help inspire me to be the best version of myself on a daily basis. In Cardiology, each one of us invests so much of ourselves to make sure that our patients get the very best care every time we can. Our ‘second family’ is a great group to have. I appreciate the Respiratory Therapist who I also get to work alongside almost daily and their passion for their patients. They are a group that rise above more than anyone would know!
Excellence every day to me means that no matter how the day begins, I still give my all to every person, every opportunity I have. I try and give all my positivity and experience to every patient and person I meet. Excellence every day is just that, making sure I take the time to give each person a little bit of sunshine in hopes to make their experience the best that I possibly can.”
Thank you, Amanda, for bringing your best to work every day for our patients. We are proud to have you on our team.
