Thanks for working here this week: Lillian Sullivan, Pathology

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow us to introduce Lillian Sullivan, the Department Secretary for the Pathology Department in Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. Lillian has worked in healthcare for 40 years, and for nearly 25 of those years she’s been with CCH! For those who don’t know, Pathology processes specimens, such as tissue from biopsies or organs, and body fluids from the Surgical Services department and local doctor's offices. Having a Pathology department in Gillette allows doctors to give patients a faster diagnosis, thus they begin to feel better quicker.

Lillian began working in health care right out of high school. “I found that I really enjoyed working where I could help people. Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to grow my career through working in many departments with a variety of responsibilities. Working in Pathology brings something new each day and I enjoy the variation of tasks that we perform in our department,” she says.

She calls her health care heroes the people who work in the Pathology department. “We are a behind-the-scenes department that is crucial to patient care and diagnoses,” she says.

When she isn’t working, Lillian enjoys spending time with her family and their fur kids. She also enjoys crocheting and reading.

We asked Lillian what she likes most about working for CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“My favorite thing about working in Pathology is our ability to work as a team to determine the diagnosis for patients in order for them to receive the appropriate treatment plan.

For me, excellence every day means to provide the best possible outcome for the patients that we care for. And while we care for patients in a different way than most other departments, providing the best possible care in our own way has the potential to have a large impact in their healthcare experience.”

Thank you, Lillian for helping to keep our community healthy. We are proud to have you on our team
