Thanks for working here this week: Kayla McDougall, MA-C, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Introducing Kayla McDougall, MA-C, a certified medication assistant at The Legacy and Rehabilitation Center in the Birch Neighborhood in Gillette, Wyoming. She’s been with CCH for more than seven years. As a MA-C, Kayla is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) responsible for administering daily medication to patients at the long-term care facility. Other duties include monitoring patients, reporting changes, and collecting samples.

Kayla was inspired to work in health care by her grandmother, who was also a CNA, and worked at Pioneer Manor (before it became The Legacy). She also calls her grandmother her health care hero. “She was a very kind and caring person, she loved her residents and job, and she showed me no matter what happens you can overcome it. She fought cancer for 30 years and worked while she was going through treatments. She kept a positive attitude up until her death,” she says.

Another health care hero is Marcy Otto, RN, who Kayla calls an amazing nurse, co-worker and friend. “She always has a great attitude and cares very much about her residents,” she says. “Marcy has talked me into going back to school to be a nurse because she says I would be a great nurse.”

When she’s not at work, Kayla loves to spend time with her two children. “We go camping, fishing, bowling and enjoy spending time with family,” she says.

We asked Kayla what she likes most about working for CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I love working with the residents, and the amazing nurses and team we have at The Legacy.

Excellence every day means working as a great team to make our residents’ lives better every day. As well as put a smile on their faces, hold their hand when they need it and stand by their side when they are taking their last breath.”

Thank you, Kayla for bringing a positive, can-do attitude to The Legacy every day. We are proud to have you on our team.

Is there a CCH employee who went the extra mile or shows you extraordinary service? Give them a pat on the back by completing an Excellence Every Day card.
