CCH Announces the Journey Program
Removing Barriers to Healthcare Careers for High School Seniors
GILLETTE, Wyo. – Dec. 01, 2022 – From rising costs to educational pathways that can be difficult to navigate – entering the healthcare profession is not a simple task. Campbell County Health is proud to announce that it is now accepting applicants for its inaugural Journey Program cohort. CCH will guide accepted students through the process of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Respiratory Therapist (RT).
The Journey Program is a professional development program for high school students graduating in the Spring of 2023 who are interested in a healthcare career. There are three “tracks” to choose from: Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, and Medical Laboratory Technician.
“CCH is not here to only provide healthcare to our community, but also mentor and grow the next generation of Campbell County healthcare professionals,” said Lisa Coleman, CCH Manager of Professional Development & Emergency Preparedness. “Investing back into our community, eliminating barriers for aspiring healthcare works, that’s how you build an exceptional hospital – that’s how you become the first choice for healthcare and wellness in Wyoming.”
The Journey Program is a multi-year program that pairs education and job training. It begins with an application to the program; CCH department managers then review applications and conduct interviews with candidates. Students selected will be enrolled in professional development programs at CCH, and CCH will pay for their college classes and materials.
