Thanks for working here this week: Camron Tompkins, Medical Equipment Specialist

Meet Camron Tompkins, Medical Equipment Specialist in Home Medical Resources (HMR). HMR is the department that rents and sells medical equipment and supplies for patients to use in their homes.

Camron has worked in various healthcare roles for over ten years, and has been at CCH for four years.

She has always been inspired to help people. Her grandmother had a medical condition that required nursing home care, and Camron and other family members would help with her needs.

“My whole life I feel I have been in a position to help people in need,” said Camron. “It’s how I was built. See a need, meet a need.”

Camron feels the most pride in her work when she is able to help someone, or just brighten their day. What she likes most about working in her department are her patients, for whom she delivers oxygen supplies on a weekly basis. She enjoys her ‘work family’ as well.

To Camron, Excellence Every Day means putting people first, greeting with a smile, and always showing compassion. She says, “I love working with people, and knowing I could make a difference in someone else’s life brings me much joy.”

Camron’s Manager Michelle Fischer had this to say about her. “She is consistently recognized by her peers during our monthly staff rounding for utilizing AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank), her willingness to help, kindness, and positivity.  She provides her patients with such passion and care and brings such a calming effect to everyone she comes into contact with. Something special that Camron does for her recurring oxygen patients is for each major holiday, she makes up little cards or small gifts to give them when she delivers their supplies. It truly brightens their day! She even shovels a path to their door in the winter to keep a clear path, without the patient asking. Camron has such a bright spirit and her smile is infectious!  She truly exemplifies what true Excellence Everyday looks like.”

When she’s not working, Camron loves to be with her family, taking vacations, and watching her kids play sports. She is also on a bowling league during the winter months.
