Campbell County Health Names New CEO, Matthew Shahan

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Matthew Shahan has accepted the position of CEO for Campbell County Health.

We are confident Matt will be an excellent CEO and help CCH achieve our vision to be the first choice for healthcare and wellness in Wyoming by providing Excellence Every Day. UCHealth has been an excellent partner throughout the recruitment and selection process, and the Board would also like to express our thanks and gratitude to interim CEO Jerry Klein for his calm and steady leadership during this transition. We look forward to working with Jerry as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Finally, we want to repeat our thanks to the staff and the community for their involvement and feedback during the recruitment process.”

Matthew Shahan is a Montana native with several years of leadership experience in rural healthcare. He holds both a Bachelor’s of Science and an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration. Matt comes to us from West River Health Services in North Dakota where he served as their CEO, overseeing a 25-bed critical access hospital, 6 ambulatory clinics, skilled nursing facility and assisted living location. He has also overseen the integration and employment of an independent physician group into the West River organization.

CCH has a partnership with UCHealth to support operations, an electronic health record, supply chain and other services. CCH collaborated with UCHealth during the search process for its CEO.

Matt will begin his tenure as CEO on May 16, 2022. He will be an employee of UCHealth and will serve Campbell County Health at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees.
