Thanks for working here this week: Grace Charles, CCMA

Meet Navada, or “Grace” Charles, CCMA; Patient Account Counselor and Medical Assistant in the CCMG Main Clinic. Grace has been at CCH for 10 years, but has worked in healthcare for 27 years, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at age 16, working in several long-term care facilities, including the old Pioneer Manor (now The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center). She began working as a medical assistant in one of the CCMG clinics in 2014, and has worked in the clinic setting ever since.
Grace’s mother and several older sisters had careers in healthcare, and Grace always wanted to be like them. Her healthcare hero is CCH co worker and Employee Health nurse Paula Broeker.
According to Grace, “Paula is dedicated to her career in health care and has worked in a number of areas. She is always furthering herself and striving for more! She has always encouraged me to do the same. She has such great work ethic, integrity and the best sense of humor. I can always count on Paula for the best advice.”
Grace loves helping patients. If she can make their day even just a little better, she feels she did her job. Always being willing to help and being a team player brings her pride.
“The Main Clinic has gone through a lot of changes in the last couple of years,” says Grace. “Having a great leader and a tight knit group of coworkers has always been a strong suit of the Main Clinic. That still holds true and makes the changes easier to roll with.”
To Grace, Excellence Every Day means always putting her all into her work, even when nobody is looking, and going the extra mile even when it is not expected.
Outside of work, Grace loves camping, doing puzzles, playing cards, caring for her house plants, and is a huge football fan. But most of all she loves spending time with family, especially her 1 ½ year old grandson Andrew.
Thank you, Grace, for taking great care of your patients every day at Campbell County Health. We appreciate all that you do.
