Campbell County Health's Home Medical Resources Sets the Standard in HQAA Audit

GILLETTE, Wyo. - Dec. 5, 2023 - Campbell County Health (CCH) is proud to announce the exceptional results of the recent Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA) audit for its Home Medical Resources (HMR) department. The HQAA specializes in benchmarked standards that are specific to durable medical equipment (DME) business and policy.

Conducted every three years, the HQAA comprehensively evaluates the processes, quality, and adherence to standards within the DME industry. HQAA accreditation is a voluntary process that providers undergo to demonstrate their commitment to meeting and exceeding established quality and performance standards in the DME industry. CCH's HMR has once again demonstrated its excellence in healthcare and wellness, achieving an outstanding score of 99/100 for the second consecutive survey, showcasing its dedication to maintaining the highest patient care and service standards.

Michelle Fischer, the Manager of Home Medical Resources at CCH, expressed the significance of the achievement, stating, "It's a pretty in-depth survey when they come in." She highlighted the complexity of the department, emphasizing that it takes a year for a new employee to fully acclimate to all the processes, rules, and procedures. This achievement reflects the hard work of the entire HMR team.

Fischer shared that the auditor, in addition to once being a DME owner, has been to many hospital-owned DMEs. According to him, nobody comes near the process and quality present at CCH HMR. Michelle Fischer, with 14 years of experience as a CCH employee, understands the team's daily challenges, she added, "I used to work the front line, so I know what they go through, and I know what the team does daily."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, HMR rose to the occasion, providing the Northeast Wyoming region with much-needed ventilators, oxygen tanks, and other essential equipment. Despite the challenging demands, Michelle's team demonstrated resilience and resolve in fulfilling their promise of providing a lifetime of care with dedication, skill, and compassion. It is this passion and expertise that has enabled them to achieve a near-perfect score in their audit during COVID-19 and this most recent one.

Michelle emphasized, "It's [HQAA audit standards] a high expectation; it is a validation of what we are doing and what we are supposed to do. We set high expectations for quality at CCH and truly value Excellence Every Day."

With these exceptional audit results, Campbell County Health reiterates its commitment to being the first choice for healthcare and wellness in Wyoming. CCH sets the bar for excellence, and the HMR department continues to exemplify the organization's dedication to providing top-notch healthcare services to the community.
