GILLETTE, Wyo. - Oct. 3, 2023 - Campbell County Health (CCH) is thrilled to announce that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded the organization a grant to strengthen its Behavioral Health Services. The Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Planning, Development, and Implementation (PDI) Grant allocates $965,123 in funding to support a transformative project to expand and enhance Campbell County Medical Group’s (CCMG) Behavioral Health Services.
According to CCMG Director Matt Miller, this grant signifies a pivotal moment for CCH. Miller stated, "We are excited to embark on this journey to become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, enabling us to provide a more comprehensive range of services to our community. This grant empowers us to meet the increasing demand for mental health and substance use services in Campbell County and the greater Northeast Wyoming region."
The project, spanning the next four years, has the primary objective of helping CCH Behavioral Health Services add new services and meet the rigorous criteria required to become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). CCBHCs are known for their comprehensive range of services, including but not limited to crisis services; screening, assessment, and diagnosis; patient-centered treatment planning; outpatient mental health and substance use services; and intensive community-based mental health services for veterans and armed forces members.
"Our community listed mental health services as one of the most pressing needs in our Community Health Needs Assessment,” said Miller. “Becoming a CCBHC is one of the many ways we are addressing that need."
Campbell County Health is committed to delivering exceptional behavioral health services that set the standard for care in Wyoming, and this grant represents a significant step forward in fulfilling that ambition. The organization looks forward to working diligently over the project period to enhance its behavioral health services and, ultimately, improve the overall well-being of Northeast Wyoming residents.
The project described is supported by Grant Number 1H79SM089217-01 from SAMHSA.
