When Campbell County School District wrote the grant to establish the Campbell County Medical Group Kid Clinic five years ago, they also requested funding for mobile medical services for rural schools in Campbell County, Wyoming. The Kid Clinic mobile unit was purchased for this purpose.
As time went on and the Kid Clinic became established in its location at the old Hillcrest School, the mobile unit was used less and less often, until it was finally transferred to Campbell County Public Health in March 2018.
Since the mobile unit was being used primarily by Public Health nursing staff for the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation’s annual flu vaccination project, it seemed a perfect fit to transfer it there.
According to Jane Glaser, CCPH Executive Director, they plan to use the unit for a mobile outreach clinic and are in the process of developing new projects and partnerships to promote community health.
The Campbell County Medical Group Kid Clinic is a school-based pediatric clinic offering medical care for Campbell County students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and their siblings’ ages 2 weeks and up; and counseling services for children 4 years to 21 years. It is located at 800 Butler Spaeth Rd., across from St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. The Kid Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm.
