CCH Emergency Medical Services Director receives Rising Star Award

GILLETTE, WY – At the Wyoming Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services (OMES) 48th Annual Trauma and Emergency Medical Services Conference in August 2018, the Campbell County Health (CCH) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director Christopher Beltz, EMT-P, received the Rising Star Award.
According to the nomination form: In 2016, CCH EMS applied for a Needs Assessment Grant through the OEMS. The assessment found that the CCH system was faced with many challenges—from the local economy, to how EMS was operating, to the morale within the EMS. After turn-over in personnel, Chris took the reins as the EMS Director, assuming the leadership role for a system comprised of 42 employees, responding to more than 5,000 square miles, and 50,000 residents. During his brief tenure, CCH EMS has seen approval for new capital expenditures, improvements to their facilities, and a significant increase in the morale and engagement of the Paramedics and EMTs.
“These successes are not all due to my efforts alone,” says Chris. “Without the hard work of my team, none of this would have been possible. This award belongs to all of us.”
The Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services created the Rising Star Award in 2017 to recognize those in the Wyoming EMS community who have stepped forward and contributed significantly to the development of Wyoming’s EMS in the past year. The award is presented to a newer EMS provider in recognition of contributions to emergency medical services during the past year. The award acknowledges and celebrates innovation, leadership, new methods and approaches, and a refusal to be satisfied with the status quo.
