Construction starts on new Kid Clinic

As of late September 2020, the site has been cleared and dirt work has begun for the new Kid Clinic, located just east of Twin Spruce Junior High in Gillette, Wyoming.
The Kid Clinic is a unique partnership between Campbell County Health (CCH) and Campbell County School District (CCSD) that provides primary medical care and counseling services to kids up to age 21. The Kid Clinic’s current location in the old Hillcrest Elementary School building, was built in the late 1970s and is just not functional anymore.
The nearly 4,000 square-foot clinic will have five exam rooms, a triage room and five counseling offices.
CCH and CCSD will split the cost of the $1.2 million project, and community donors like CAMPCO Federal Credit Union and the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation have also contributed.
According to CCH CEO Colleen Heeter, both partners “…worked hard to make the design as efficient and cost-effective as possible.”
Construction is expected to take about nine months, and be ready to see children in May 2021. Learn more about the Kid Clinic at www.cchwyo.org/kidclinic.
