Kid Clinic Summer Groups Program
- Posted On:
The Campbell County Medical Group Kid Clinic is working to develop a Summer Group Program for children in need. Counseling staff create the groups to be supportive of the current needs of children in the community, and they are looking to hear from clients in a survey to see if they have children who would benefit from groups like these that could be offered:
- ADHD Group: Aimed at providing structure and impulse control for children and adolescents who tend to act before thinking. The group will utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to begin identifying errors to thought and adjust behaviors.
- Anxiety Group: Aimed at providing relaxation techniques to those children and adolescents struggling with anxiety. They will learn ways to manage their anxiety in a safe space among others that struggle with similar issues.
- Depression Group: Aimed at providing relaxation techniques to those children and adolescents struggling with depression. They will learn ways to manage their depression in a safe space among others that struggle with similar issues.
- Resiliency Group: Aimed at providing children and adolescents with coping and other skills to allow for improving their ability to manage adverse situations with ease.
- Social Skills Group: Aimed at providing children struggling with social interactions—be it missed social cues or struggling to make friends—develop skills to have positive interactions in the upcoming school year.
When taking the survey, please fill in any behavior concerns on the survey and a staff member will be in touch to being the process for groups.
Current Kid Clinic patients can take the survey at www.cchwyo.org/kidclinic through May 7. If you would be interested in having your child participate in any of the groups, or for more information about the groups or other services, please contact the Kid Clinic at 306.688.8700.
The Kid Clinic is a collaborative effort between Campbell County Health, Campbell County Medical Group and Campbell County School District to provide primary medical care, behavioral health and substance abuse counseling services.
